Last day of the Folk Festival!!

Hiya

Emma here, sitting on the 2xx information stall near the Trocadero. It's the last day of the festival, and there's a great vibe in the air. We're meeting a lot of great people here at the stall, who are happy to chat music and share their experiences, while they find out more about 2xx.

We've still got quite a few CDs, which we are offering in return for a donation. Although we've unloaded a truckload or so over the long weekend, we've still got plenty of good 'uns well worth a look at (or even better, worth a listen).

And later this afternoon, we're all excited to see that Emma Dean, who is described as a performer of "pop theatre" (with her amazing Butoh performers) will be hitting the stage at the Majestic Fringe Tent. She'll be followed by Canberra's very own Mr Fibby, and I'm also looking forward to seeing young gypsy folk band Rapskallion perform -- if you see someone wandering around the festival dressed as a pirate, it's a good chance it's Rapskallion!

And a shout out to Hadley for his wonderful job at the Majestic. As anyone who's queued up to see it can attest, the Majestic has really been the place to be at this year's festival!

Until next time, we hope you've had a great folk festival and we hope to see you soon!

monday - live broadcasts !!!

G'day everyone, Eamon here (yep, VH-EJL has the "Press to Transmit" button on :)).

For the rest of today (Sunday 3 April), we have standard programming with a NFF theme.

On Easter Monday, stay tuned for live broadcasts from 10.30am to 6pm from the various venues. The talent is so varied, everything is really awesome to listen in!

If you are here at EPIC, please check out our stall in the A-Frame conference building between the Coorong Pavillion and the Budawang Pavillion in front of the Tocadero. We even have a "Lucky Dip" of CDs, so it really worth your while to drop by.

Hope you are all having a great Easter.

Stand back, I'm from the media!

Last year was my first at the Folk Festival with 2xx. It was quite a buzz broadcasting live from the event, and then wandering among the events catching recordings for later airing on the station.

I'd sidle my way the production desk so my electrowizz recording device could breathe in the digital goodness out of the performance.  If anybody wanted to know, it was media, back off. Actually, we were careful to get permission each time, and the technical crews seemed happy to talk to us.

Also notable was the tireless hardwork put into the event, particularly by Kimmo.

I'm heading off to the Four Winds Festival this weekend, but if you can make it to the Fold Festival, enjoy!
